Raleigh, NC: Local Eye Site donates to long-standing partners, ATPO and OAA.

“The Association of Technical Personnel in Ophthalmology (ATPO) applauds Local Eye Site (LES) for its longstanding commitment to support education, training, and career advancement initiatives for allied ophthalmic professionals,” says Stephanie Czuhajewski, MPH, who serves as ATPO’s executive director. “LES recognizes the important role that eye techs play in the clinical practices they serve, and has a proven track record of creating opportunities for success for ATPO and its members.”

“For the past 10 years, the Opticians Association of America (OAA) has had over 240 students and apprentices join us at our Annual State Leadership Conference as we all learn how to become better leaders for our great profession. This program offers opticianry students and apprentices an introduction into how to become a leader in the profession, how to get involved, how to make a difference outside of their dispensary, and how to develop both personally and professionally,” said Chris Allen, Executive Director at OAA. “Every two years a student/apprentice is selected to serve as a Board of Director for the Opticians Association of America. This individual is someone who was singled out as the “next” leader in the profession. Local Eye Site is the sponsor of this student/apprentice. Through LES’ financial support, OAA is able to provide funding to this special board of director to ensure their attendance at the Annual Conference and participation as an OAA Board of Director.”

“When we began working with our now well-established partners, ATPO and OAA, we took on the challenge to support them in more ways than just recruitment within the eye care industry,” says Local Eye Site President, Brad McCorkle. “For years, we’ve been committed to reinvesting in the eye care industry to stimulate growth across the industry.”
